Swing Camp Telluride

Swinging high on the success of their inaugural camp in 2007, the Telluride Lindy Society is excited to present the second Swing Camp Telluride, March 28-30, 2008. Featuring internationally renowned dance instructors from San Francisco, Seattle, and Denver, the weekend is dedicated to teaching all ages and ALL skill levels the joys of swing dancing. There will be a variety of classes offered including East Coast swing, lindy hop, balboa, boogie woogie, and charleston. There will also be a class specially for teenagers. DJ Slam from Phoenix will host a dance on Friday night, and a live band will perform for the dance on Saturday night. Swing Camp Telluride is proud to be sponsored in part by the Telluride Council of Arts and Humanities. Weekend passes are only $100.00 per person, Saturday Only passes are $50.00, and individual admission to classes and dances will be available at the door. 2007 Jazz Festival Main StageSince 1977, Telluride’s majestic perch - high in the spectacular San Juan Mountains in Southwestern Colorado has been the site of a musical odyssey combining the finest of nature and art. Each year the Telluride Society for Jazz produces one of the most memorable festivals in the world. Its intimate format and many opportunities for enjoying spectacular mountain activities complement the superb music. One can enjoy hiking, mountain jeep tours, visits to mining ghost towns, biking and more, all of which seduce an audience of up to 3,000 per day to this historic, one-of-a-kind Victorian town seen by most Americans only in TV commercials.
